When writing measurements, we often use decimals.
The decimal number separates the "whole" number from the "parts" of the whole number.
With Length, the decimal point can be used to separate the meters from centimeters.
1 meter = 100 centimeter
So 2.5 meters can also be read as 2 meters and 50 centimeters.
With Money, the decimal point can be used to separate Rupees from Paisa.
1 rupee = 100 paisa
So Rs. 35.5 can also be read as 35 rupees and 50 paisa.
